A tradesman was crushed by a falling stack of pallets weighing an estimated one tonne in a horror workplace accident this morning. Several ambulance and police crews rushed to the Bond Crescent building site in Wetherill Park, west of Sydney, just after 10.30am.

  • What services does IRIA offer?

    IRIA provides three important services:

    1. Independent racking inspections carried out annually with reports available online within 24 hours.
    2. Racking component testing to establish safe working loads for selective systems with no existing data.
    3. Racking safety training for warehouse staff, supervisors and anyone working in or around pallet racking and shelving.
  • Why is racking safety an ongoing commitment rather than a one-off job?

    In a busy warehouse, forklifts nudge uprights, loads shift, and minor damage can quickly become a serious hazard. A one-off inspection only shows your racking condition on the day. Staying safe means regular inspections, routine checks by trained staff, and a clear repair process. AS 4084.2:2023 also requires a formal inspection by a competent person at least every 12 months.

  • Does IRIA work with small businesses as well as large companies?

    Yes. IRIA works with everyone from single-site operators to national chains managing compliance across dozens of locations. The inspection standard is exactly the same regardless of the size of the business.
