Why are independent racking inspections so important?
Who inspects your racking matters more than most people realise. IRIA was built on a simple idea: a racking inspection is only worth the result, if the person doing it has nothing to gain from the outcome. It’s what makes us truly independent.
Independence is the foundation of everything we do. That’s why organisations across Australasia choose us to complete their independent racking inspections.
We don’t sell racking or repair it. We get no referral fees from, or have affiliations with, companies that do. Our only job is to inspect your system, document what we find and give you an honest result you can act on. It’s a refreshing approach, right?
How an independent racking inspection works
An IRIA Inspector visits your site to
1. check, 2. record and 3. report.
Check racking against the relevant Australian or international standard.
Record any item of damage or non-compliance found
Produce a documented online report you can access within 24 hours.
Every IRIA inspection is documented and stored inRackMaster®, our purpose built inspection platform, and available online within 24 hours. You get a clear, fully transparent picture of the state of your racking – so you know exactly what needs attention and what doesn’t.

How is IRIA different from a racking supplier offering free inspections?
A free inspection from a racking supplier isn’t really independent – it’s a sales visit with a clipboard. The person doing it has a direct financial interest in what they find. IRIA has no products to sell and no repair work to refer. Our business depends entirely on the accuracy and integrity of our reports, which means you get a straight answer every time – not a quote dressed up as an assessment.
Does IRIA operate outside Australia?
Yes. IRIA operates across Australia, New Zealand and more than 35 countries globally. For multi-site businesses operating across Australasia, that means one inspection partner, one reporting platform and one consistent standard – regardless of where your sites are located.
Why should I get my racking inspected by IRIA and not the manufacturer?
Having your racking inspected by an independent company such as IRIA ensures the most impartial and cost-effective means of racking maintenance. IRIA will inspect all brands of racking, this is especially important if you utilise multiple brands on your site. In general, manufacturers will only inspect their own brand. IRIA has no interest in selling you racking and therefore will not recommend unnecessary repairs. For the most part inspectors for the racking manufacturers are also their salespeople.
